Yesterday I am sitting at my desk, working away… and then my little House News widget scrolls up 2 new events. No big deal – Probably a phone call from the good folks at Sasktel wanting to save me some money by “bundling up” some “features” and then with all the money I save I could get Max TV. Wrong… Kara is home early… Odd.
Actully its not that odd, she frequently takes time off to go home early and whip up something special. But why today? She knows I am getting a haircut and will be home late anyway…
Sushi!!! Of course – she has to try out all her new skillz…
My haircut went pretty quickly and I was home at about 5:20ish. I walk in and sure enough there is food prep everywhere… But its not Sushi – There where Cheese Trays, Veggie Trays, Natchos with Cheese, Ripple Chips and Dip, Deli Meat Trays, Crackers of all kinds, Chocolate Fondue with piles of Strawberries and a Cake. There was ample food to feed a party of 9 or more.
But something was missing… … The Party of 9!
I was the only one there… “Surprise” I hollered. I was expecting a party of 9 to jump out at me with cone hats and confetti. Nothing. I cautiously checked every room in the house. “Surprise”, “Happy Birthday to me!” I shouted.
So I’m standing there at the top of the stairs, with a dumfounded look on my face and then the front door unlocks. It was Kara. It turns out my (very 1st) surprise birthday party didn’t start until 6:00 – My Bad…
Fast forward to six bells, all the peeps showed up around 6 and I hid and surprised them one by one! Ha, that will learn you guys.
