Today we woke to blue skies and fantastic panoramic views, a nice break from the overcast dreariness we’ve had for the past couple of days.
Last night we met a couple (Allan and Jodi) who had the nearly identical – completely different trailer as ours. They have been camping through this area many times and had lots of good information regarding what is open and where the nice quiet spots to stay are. They said they are heading to Kicking Horse (near Field, BC) to stake their claim before the weekend rush.
We figured it was a good move because it is the only campground that’s open in Yoho Park, and we could use it as a base to see the nearby attractions. We packed up and headed west, stoping in Lake Louise for some supplies and then made our decent down into Field. We pulled in just after lunch, and chose a spot right next to the creek. After some finessed trailer parking, we had some sandwiches Kara made, relaxed and explored the area.

I went for a walk up the stream, hopping from rock to rock, but soon found my knees were wet, good thing I was wearing crocks!

We made M&M steaks, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob, all on the wood fire – the best! Soon after supper Allan found us and invited us to sit around their fire, so we obliged.
