Our Summer in a Nutshell

Posted by on September 8, 2007

Hey!Is there anyone still out there or has everyone graduated to the social networking of Facebook.I never really did get into the Facebook thing, but then again, I haven’t been so dedicated to the blog either!Yes I know it has been two months since our last posting.Shame, shame on us.I guess we should fill everyone in on what we have been up too.At the start of the summer we did house renovations.Jason and I spent some time re-doing our front deck and painting the living room.I did manage to have somewhat of a green thumb and plant a few flowers around the place.I was quite proud when I ended up with some beautiful shades of orange and red Ecstatic Lilies. We did manage to get a few camping trips in this year. Not nearly enough! We got to camp in our favorite spot at Eagle Creek for a few nights. To add a little variety from our usually camping bulgogi Korean BBQ, we came up with a new camping recipe.Hamburger, potatoes, and vegetables all done in tin foil on the campfire. So tasty! We named it Eagle Stew.We thought it was fitting.(No eagles were harmed in the making of the stew)

Summer is already coming to a close. Can you believe that we had the last long weekend of the summer?! We ended up spending the Labour Day weekend at my parents. We hadn’t been there since April so it was nice to have a little visit.Mom and Dad took us for a day trip on Sunday to some really beautiful lakes up in their area. They are all great fishing lakes, so perhaps we will have to give that a try one of these days.Summer seems to be such a busy time so hopefully we will get a chance to hang out with some of our friend this fall.TTYL and enjoy the nice, crisp weather!

Did those lakes your parents took you to around back home, happen to be the ones around Moose Range Lodge? My family used to go camping there (Townsend Lake) every summer for July long weekend!
